IHAA Equine Welfare statement

Horses are integral to our sport and as such their welfare is paramount. Our aim should always be for the horses to be willing partners.

The IHAA requires its IHAA Code of Equine Welfare to be followed during all IHAA competitions and other activities linked to the IHAA. You can find the english language version of the IHAA Code of Equine Welfare on the Rules page

All Judges are required to pass an exam on the contents of the IHAA Code of Equine Welfare.

All competition organisers are required to supply the IHAA Code of Equine Welfare to competitors, ground crew and horse providers in english and in the local language.

Clean Sport

• Anti-doping stance
  The IHAA upholds the FEI rules on fair play and clean sport for the human and equine athletes.
  The IHAA General and Competition Rules contain legislation for the promotion of horseback archery as a clean sport. See here for more information.
