16.6.2 If there are fewer than 5 competitors in an age category (at a major
championships) then it will be amalgamated with the nearest age category (eg.
masters amalgamated with senior). This announcement must be made at the
competitors' meeting.
16.6.3 The Head Judge may choose to check archery equipment at this meeting.
Competitors must be advised with su ficient notice to comply.
16.6.4 The organiser may opt to not hold a pre-competition briefing for all
competitors; in large competitions it is permitted to run a smaller meeting attended
by a national representatives who will disseminate information to their team.
16.6.4.1 In this situation it is mandatory to have local rules and competition
information, ie. all information that was provided at the briefing, available to be
read at the central information hub. There must be publicised times when a
senior competition o ficial is available at this location to answer questions from
individual competitors.
16.6.4.2 Competitors cannot be excluded from the small briefing (#16.6.4) if they
have concerns about their access to information via their representative.
17. Competition procedure
17.1 Only one competitive entry is permitted per competitor
17.1.1 Additional entries may be made on a non-competitive (NC) basis.
17.1.2 NC entries may be made where a rider wishes to participate in an event but is
overqualified for the entry conditions.
17.1.3 The competitive entry must be the rider's first run on a track, with NC entries
subsequent to this
17.1.4 NC entries will be recorded within the competition on ihaa.eu but will not be
ranked against the competitive entries.
17.2 The optimum group size is 6 or fewer. The maximum permitted group size is 8.
17.2.1 At the start of each group competitors should be introduced to spectators if
time and audio equipment allow.
17.3 A competitor may withdraw from the competition at any time. Scores received, up
to and including their last completed run, still stand towards the final results.
17.4 In the case of a tie for first place the winner is the competitor with the higher
number of target points. In the event of a continued tie the higher number of 5 point
scores (or 7 points scores for Hunt Track) would determine the winner.
17.4.1 This method should be used if the tie is for an individual win of a single event
or a whole HBAE competition.
