5.20.6.1 This bonus is not available when the kikaç and qabaq are at the start of
the HT and the competitor starts with their arrows.
6. Scoring
6.1 Arrow hits are scored as follows:
6.1.1 Five zone target faces, with concentric zones: 7 – 5 – 3 – 2 – 1 points (inner ring
outwards) as standard.
6.1.2 Long distance shots, ie. 30-45m, as per #2.6,
- central hit (on target) = 10pts, peripheral hit (near miss) = 5pts
6.1.3 2D (paper hunter) targets: - inner kill zone = 7 pts,
- kill zone = 5 pts,
- within the body outline (not including legs,
antlers/horns, tail or similar) = 3 pts,
- elsewhere on the front of the target = 1 pt.
6.1.4 3D targets (3D or silhouette targets):
- inner kill zone = 7 pts,
- kill zone = 5 pts,
- body = 3 pts,
- peripheral area of target (eg. legs, antlers/horns, tail
or ground/tree support) = 1 pt.
- If no kill zones are marked, the target will have a maximum possible score of 3pts.
- On silhouette targets:
- a hit to the side of the target scores 3pts or 1pt according to whether the adjacent
area of the front of the target is the body (3pts) or periphery (1pt)
- a hit to the back of the target will be scored as 0pts (unless the course designer has
specifically stated that this target may be shot at on 2 occasions (ie. towards the front
and the back)
6.1.5 Non-standard 2D targets without concentric zones (eg. pyramids) are permitted
in small numbers (ie. only one on a course of <10 targets, and no more than 10% of
targets on longer tracks). They are scored 7 - 5 - 3 - 2 - 1.
6.1.6 Scoring of targets associated with Archery technical elements
6.1.6.1 Merida target: hit = 5 pts, miss = 0 pts, (hit with a non- lu lu arrow = 0 pts)
6.1.6.2 Kikaç target: A 3-zone target face scored 7, 5, 3pts
- outer zone = the outer yellow ring and the outer mid-blue zone, middle zone =
the inner yellow ring and the grey zone, and central zone = the dark blue circle
6.1.6.3 Qabaq target: An upward hit on the metal disc scores 10pts. A hit on the
