Route B option.
   59
5.4.3.1 If the horse and rider refuse (ie. stop close to the obstacle / entry into the
water, then back away or turn) then the rider may not attempt it again and
   should proceed along Route B
5.5 Where an equitation technical element is included in the track it is mandatory for a
  competitor to attempt it.
5.5.1 Non-compliance with EqTEs can result in penalty points, as defined by the
  HTCD.
5.5.2 Failure to successfully complete an EqTE will result in target hits not being
registered and no bonus (where one is available), but there is no penalty if it was
  attempted.
5.5.3 Assessment of whether a reasonable attempt was made to comply with an EqTE
will be made by the judge for this element.
5.6 Archery technical elements may only be shot in the manner specified by the HTCD.
5.7 Specifications of the rules and scoring associated with the additional elements must
be made available to competitors in a text format.
5.7.1 The Head Judge or HTCD must also brief competitors on the additional
elements while walking the course. Zones where the elements apply must be clearly
  marked and specified.
Examples of common additional elements. These lists are not exclusive.

  5.8 OBSTACLES Mandatory Route B (#5.4)
5.8.1 The height of obstacles may be up to 50cm maximum, with a measuring
tolerance of 10%, ie. 5cm. (See further guidance in HTCD course on appropriate use of jumps
  and how to measure them)
5.8.2 The target is located perpendicular to the obstacle, positioned for the shot to be
  taken whilst jumping the obstacle.
5.8.3 The arrow points and bonus are awarded regardless of the exact timing of
arrow release relative to the jump (subject to #5.3, ie. hitting the target)
5.8.4 The competitor must canter the approach to an obstacle (brief lapses in gait are
permitted). If they trot up to the jump neither the 5pt bonus nor the arrow score are
  awarded.
  5.9 DITCHES Mandatory Route B (#5.4)
5.9.1 Ditches may be up to 50cm wide (in the direction of travel).
5.9.2 The target is located perpendicular to the ditch and is designed to be shot
  whilst jumping the ditch.
